My educational philosophy is based on the child's personal and natural development. Thus, the school is not a place where the teacher transmits knowledge, but a place where intelligence and the child's mentality is developed through personal and challenging education atmosphere with specialized teaching. My daily objective is being a vibrant teacher who provides a first class education enabling pupils to thrive within a dynamic, global environment, making them able to become a better person for the coming world.

I would like to contribute to the educational core objectives by offering all my education, academic and personal skills to achieve them, giving to children the opportunity to become the person they wish to be, not only in an academic context, but more specifically, for the world they need to live in. I believe in a world where society must be managed by rational and balanced people thanks to their own capabilities, and I consider that children need to be taught by this way. Service to and for community is one of the objectives that help to arrive to that point, as well as the education outside the school, which means having and experiencing moments where a person needs to feel responsible and take risks. Moreover, I feel that children need to enjoy a health life, and being a basketball coach and a lover of any sport, I can support this belief from a practice point of view. Furthermore, I consider myself as a heavy user of all technologies applied to the schoolroom, which is demonstrated with the publication of my final thesis during my last master´s degree in teaching Spanish, which is based on my experience developing an online and digital ELE methodology and was awarded with a scholarship from University of Alcalá.
My educational mission, therefore, is to prepare all pupils through a relevant, engage and challenging curriculum to become lifelong learners contributing to a global community. Regarding my objectives, every child has to develop the skills, knowledge and aptitude to reach their full potential, make them real and critical thinkers, open-minded, reflective and risk-takers. Moreover, pupils need to feel welcome, safe and secure, happy and a valued member of the community and benefit from the highest standards of teaching. Finally, my values are based on honesty and integrity, tenacity, sense of purpose and self-awareness.

I am currently teaching Spanish for the fourth year at Doha British School, in Doha, Qatar. However, the next step in my life would be moving to another place where both, my wife Lena García Garcés and I, would like to continue with our teacher career. We strongly believe that this new step represents an extraordinary opportunity to develop our academic and professional skills, for obtaining strong background and a better life and, at the same time, a great chance for schools to hire a teaching couple willing to give the best of us in teaching. This is which attracts me the most of this new stage of our lives: the opportunity to invest the best years of our teaching life in creating and educating pupils able to change and improve our world.

I am familiar and confident with creating and designing short, medium and long-term schemes of work, as well as high quality individual lessons in the Spanish and British curriculums in both, the the Primary school and Secondary School. I have developed all curriculums, weekly lessons and long-term plans for Years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6, and I have also created many different materials and resources to aid student learning. I am currently teaching at KS3, IGCSE and IB levels, continuing with the teaching, planning and assessment that I took in Primary. On the other hand, my professional development over the last four year inside and outside the school has been constantly growing with diverse courses about teaching, an official examiner qualification of the Spanish Diploma for European Languages (also called DELE), an University Specialist in Spanish teaching, a Master´s degree in teaching Spanish as 2L, as well as IB courses.
